Conflict Analysis

Understanding a conflict is the first step towards developing a strategy to address it.  A holistic analysis allows us to recognize the conflict’s complexity, dynamics, and emotional nature as well as identify patterns and reinforcing interactions. Click here to view an example of a network analysis. We use systems principles and tools to understand the conflict, lay the groundwork for transformation and design intervention strategies with an eye towards stabilizing change.

The starting point for a dynamical analysis of conflict is the recognition that conflicts are inherently dynamic; they escalate and de-escalate, change form, spread into new groups, and can be passed from generation to generation
